Marie Beaver
CCS, LAC, NCAC
Founding Executive Director with nearly 40 years of personal recovery and over 37 years of professional experience. Under the leadership of Marie Beaver, Rea of Hope became one of the most successful nonprofits in West Virginia, being recognized by the Nation’s Drug Czar, John Walters, as a “premiere program” in 2006. Rea of Hope has grown from one employee to twelve and from ten beds to over 30 with the addition of New Life Apartments. The WV Division on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse adopted the goals and objectives set forth by Marie for Rea of Hope in their statements of work for all Fellowship Homes funded by them. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh first partnered with Rea of Hope in 2008 to fund the New Life Apartments. Marie graduated from Clemson University in South Carolina and worked in the field of addictions for 35+ years and housing for 17+ years. Marie is a Nationally Certified Addiction Counselor, Certified Clinical Supervisor in Addictions and a Licensed Addictions Counselor. In addition to her credentials, Marie has been a ‘mother’ to so many and a constant reminder of how God can work through one person to save countless others. Marie is happily retired and lives by the sea with her husband Carl and their dog Chief!

Sally was a lifetime (founding) Rea of Hope board member, sister of our namesake (Betsy Rea) and a tremendous loving woman of our community. She was integral in the inception of Rea of Hope, in honor of her sister Betsy Rea, a recovering alcoholic and polio survivor, who passed away in 1999 from cancer. Sally's book, Rea of Hope The Story of Betsy Fletcher Rea, was often gifted to graduating residents in her honor. Sally's love and kindness will forever echo in the walls of Rea of Hope.
