Residential Living

Houses

14 beds in Two Locations

Our residents are required to work, attend school or volunteer at an approved location. The focus is on their recovery in a 12 step-based fellowship and establishing themselves as responsible members of our community. As a collaborative effort, we are working closely with many existing agencies to provide training in job skills, GED preparation, counseling, transportation, etc. Working with other agencies is a priority. The focus on collaboration is a key.

The Rea of Hope is staffed twenty-four hours a day to insure a supportive, safe environment. The program is structured to encourage personal growth and responsibility. A minimum six month commitment must be made.

Apartments

Nine Apartments in two locations, exclusively for Rea graduates and their minor children.

As graduates, the women already have a support system in place, employment and connection to the community. We will work with the women to get their credit, fines and other financial and legal problems solved. These prove to be huge stumbling blocks to staying successful in early recovery. Our graduates usually cannot afford to have first, last and security deposits for apartments, utilities turned on, vehicles, insurance, etc. The outcome for them is poor, due to returning to the same or similar environments, which are not conducive to their recovery. The goals of the Rea of Hope New Life Apartments are to further assist women in becoming independent and positioning them to provide a safe living environment for themselves and their children. This phase will deal with learning to live independently, with minimal assistance. We will continue to establish long term goals and provide the necessary support to help each resident remove any barrier that may prevent them from becoming acceptable and responsible members of our community.

Rea of Hope believes all children deserve the best possible opportunities for a safe home like environment that nurtures them and provides opportunities. Many of our adult residents are children of addicts and alcoholics and come from a background of poverty and abuse that is multi-generational. Rea of Hope strives to make a difference in their lives and the lives of their children. We want to provide the best possible chance for another way of life. We work closely with the mothers, foster parents and child protective service workers to ensure the safety of the child and to help them reach their full potential. We address the most basic needs first; shelter and food. Next we strive to educate, model and support changes in behavior and lifestyle that will support a safe and stable environment for these children and give them the opportunity to thrive rather than just survive.
